The Necklace reader response, january 10, 2012

Madame Losiel was beautiful woman who lived in poverty. Everything she ever dream for was the life and benefits of the upper class. Her husband trued to do as much for her as he could to treat her. One night her husband got her an invitation for a ball held by his business. All of the wealthy people in the area would be there. She did not accept the invitation as she had nothing to wear to it. Her husband gave her the money to buy a dress and suggested she go over to their friends house and borrow some jewelry. She bought a dress, borrowed a diamond necklace and waited until the party came.

The night of the party she was very happy, as al the men wanted to dance with her and introduce themselves. At four in the morning they finally left the ball. When they got home she discovered she no longer possessed the necklace and screamed. Her husband did all he could to find it but to no prevail. They went down to the jewelers the next day and found a necklace exactly like the borrowed one, but there was only one problem, to was thirty thousand francs. A week or so later they finally saved and loaned enough money to buy the new one and return it to her friend.

It took ten years from that day to pay off all the people and businesses they had loaned from. When she was finally done working she went for a walk. On her walk she met her old friend from which she borrowed the necklace and told her the whole story. Her neighbor gasped in shock and said "My necklace was but a replica, and cost less than five hundred francs" THE END.
